In theory always use a snubber. In reality unless you’re anchoring in severe conditions that galley maid windless is built like a brick shithouse and you almost certainly aren’t going to hurt that thing. I don’t use a snubber probably 2/3 times I anchor, if there is no wind or waves sufficient to need one then why go to the trouble. You can always add it if and when things pick up. They usually don’t. I know this is bad form, but it doesn’t hurt anything.
