67' COCKPIT MY (1987 - 1995)
I am thinking about a bigger shinier anchor.

What is the key measurement on my pulpit and the anchor to make it swing in there and fit?

More specifically, what is the largest anchor I can fit into the pulpit of a 1986 54 MY?

Thanks for the help.

At FLIBS Mantus had plastic templates of various sized anchors. I borrowed a couple sizes for the day to check the fit. The template was lockstep with the underlying anchor and gave me the confidence that it would fit. Not sure if they would send you the pre-cut templates but they separately have the dimensions on the website and you can make your own out of cardboard. I suspect other anchor companies do the same. Here’s the link to Mantus M2. https://www.mantusmarine.com/anchor-templates-2/

We put a Vulcan 55 on our 60MY. It weighs 121 pounds. Had to make a slight modification with an angle grinder but fits well. Pictures if you want. If I remember correctly the 54 has the same pulpit as the 60. I’m sure we could have gone down one size but that’s what the chart called for. We haven’t put it to the ultimate test but not many hurricanes on Green Bay yet.

Does anyone have a template for a 110 lbs. Bruce?

Or has anyone installed one in a pulpit and not required modification?

Has anyone installed a 55 kg M2 without modifying the pulpit?

I have a 1986 54 MY pulpit.

I put a 125 pound Mantus M2 with no mods on my 67CMY which is similar to a 60MY but don’t know if it same as 54MY. Maybe some others can clarify if they are same pulpit.
