AICW Traffic

Heard from a friend on a sail boat, currently headed back to North Carolina from Florida, that the ICW is void of pleasure boat traffic in either direction. By now in prior years the traffic would be building. Anyone on or near the ICW that can offer additional information on activity?

I just spent a week south of Myrtle Beach, SC. We came from Wilmington, NC and ran the ICW on the way down and on the way back ran on the outside. I think ICW traffic maybe slower but definetly not non existent. There were quite a few boats out.
