It is time to replace the plexiglass on my aft deck enclosures. I now have a pretty darkly tinted plexiglas and am thinking of going to clear on the aft panels and leaving the tint on the sides. Any comments from those that have full enclosures.

I am re-doing the Acrylic now that paint is done.
I am using clear acrylic and applying ceramic tint film. The smoke acrylic tends to develop bubbles, etc.

If you are doing this; measure both sides. I have a difference in height and length:)

Should have the flat window done this week. Need to put the curve windows in the oven. Form is created in cardboard, time to rebuild in ply. I am not using a heat gun (again creates bubbles). Lets see if we can get it on the first try!

I have long desired tinted aft curtains, is that possible? Or is it going to fail in a couple months because it's not designed to be applied over a flexible plastic window? I have tinted windows all around my cabin including the windshield and LOVE it, does a wonderful job of keeping the glare and heat down in the summer. Can you actually tint the isinglass windows?

I have had tinted plexiglass in my aft enclosure for about 7 years and it is now starting to craze. A plastic expert told me that clear will last longer than tinted because the clear is still made in the US but all the tinted stuff comes from China. Not 100% sure I believe that but that came from someone in the plastics industry.

I have strataglas with a slight gray tint. I don't know if it helps with heat but I like the look.
