The use otf 1/8 inch sheet acrylic has worked out well; however, damage caused while the enclosure was detached during handrail varnishing made me do things over with some improvements.
I used ss angle brackets to allow the acrylic to be lower:
Inside, i used 1/2" teak held in place by more angle to cover things up.
