  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
I am considering the installation of an electric outlet in the aft deck, probably in the post / wire chase running between the cabin roof and the hardtop and located on the centerline next to the helm of the 43 DC.

Information regarding installation options or considerations will be appreciated.

vincent, make sure it is on a ground fault circuit, and i would also put a weatherproof cover on it.

I would run the power straight up from the aft closet : make the outlet below the gf outlet and run the deck outlet off of "load" of that circuit. mount in an exterior housing with a weather shield . clamp to rail or weather board about 12" up min, not on deck .

On my 43 there is an outlet on the wall, at the bottom to the right and just a little aft of the helm chair, near the breaker box for the incoming shore power. Ditto on the GFI and weather proof cover, mine is also on it's own circuit breaker.

Thanks for the advice.
I have a weather resistant GCFI and cover and wii mount it on the bulkhead to the left of the helm which will put it near the wiring coming up from the breaker panel?

Regards
