Something is wrong with your system of low refrigerant gives you the HI PS error you mentioned in your first post

Yet all is working. If I understand things correctly…..increased heat causes increased pressure. If there isn’t enough water to cool the system then you get a hi pressure error as heat causes expansion or increased pressure. Low coolant would potentially cause the same effect it seems. I could be wrong though. I also understand that low coolant can cause icing

Yes low refrigerant will cause icing of the coils and lack of cooling. It should trip the low press switch. It could also make the compressor run hot which will cause the temp sensor on the compressor to shut it down without showing an error on the panel

The other thing that was wrong was the low pressure switch was not wired correctly

What kind of pump Do you have? If you an oberdorfer or Scot with bronze impellers and heads, they erode with time and loose their pumping capacity

I had this just happen on the 116 I run. Breaker started to trip as one of the chiller was using more power. Still not bad enough to trigger a high pressure but enough to use more amps and trip it’s breaker.

Checked everything...it had just been descaled a month ago... I pulled the pump and sure enough the impeller was eroded as well as the interior of the head. It was fine up to July but not with water in the high 80s it wasn’t enough flow

Replaced the pump with a rebuilt spare and it’s all good. All three chillers run much cooler.

That s why I much prefer march pumps. Impellers are hard plastic and don’t erode. They can break but if they do replacement takes a few minutes without even having to pull the hoses.

Edit. Never mind I see the picture and it s a march. You can just replace the impeller. As mentioned you didn’t have to take it out. You can’t just pull the cover and swap

Pascal and I have the same pumps. In fact I just posted about this in another thread but here's my flushing tool for my units - I have 3 self-contained units now that I have had to replace all the old CrusAir units. I can't get to the discharge side easily to make a closed loop so I have to settle for a freshwater flush thru the overboards. I pull the impeller, put this plate on and connect to my washdown hose. Then I walk out to the dock, and at my pedestal I can see the overboard. I open the valve slowly and let the water run for 30-35 minutes. While this is not as good as a white vinegar or muriatic acid wash, it's pretty effective - I have washed my units out a couple of times this summer, especially after divers were under neighboring boats and I sucked up their scrapings.
