  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
45' CONVERTIBLE-Series I (1968 - 1975)
I have 45C360. When I got it (last yr), there were 2 new A/C units in the engine room not completely installed and the blower unit that is over the outside bunk in the owner's statemroom was uninstalled. Last weekend a buddy and I tried doing an install on the blower, and the one that was there apperaed to be too large for the space it was supposed to go into. The prior owner was doing this A/C refurb when I bought the boat, so it is possible that he had a wrong unit.
Does anyone known the model # and the manufacturer of the blower unit for the early series 45C ?
thanks

Try MTS Power Systems in Westbury (516) 334-6500. Barry is familiar with a lot of these units and can probably help you out. Also if you need a different air handler he can get you one at a good price. Mention my name... my real name, not "Scrod". ;)

Try to get the squirrel cage blowers rather than the fans (propeller type). More efficient and quieter if they will fit.

On my 1973 45c the a/c unit for the lower cabins has two air handling units on one compressor. One AHU on the main cabin and the second one on the forward cabin. The temperature control only works on the main cabin. Forward cabin only has blower speed control.

I replaced the AHU units in 2003, purchased the units form a crusair dealer. I believe you can see the installation inst at their site.

On our 1978 37' hat we had the salon air handler die. I removed it and found the complete motor/fan/housing assembly from grainger for like $ 150.00 usd.

This was an exact duplicate assembly down to the wire harness and mounting screws.

Buying from crusair was two to three times the cost.

thanks folks .... I know, in a few weeks I won't need the A/C and I've already sweated out the vast majority of the summer, but this is just another one of my long list of projects.
