  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
42' LRC - Mark II (1980 - 1985)
This had one owner when I came across it in Melbourne, FL. I was told it had been sitting for four years. PO had new cruiseair A/C units installed and batteries along with cables. some other items including a new flybridge canvass, front window cover and aft deck awning (flybridge stratus glass is in process and 80% funded). When attempting to start engines they were not free to turn. owner was discouraged and put her up for sale when I stumbled upon her. Since then I have rebuilt the superchargers and have both 8v71TI running, port engine has about 150 hours and the starboard has 2400 hours and smokes a little but after warmup is very light. New raw water pumps both sides and left side riser both engines and a new right side turbo on starboard engine, generator turns over but did not start and I have not looked into it as yet, new battery charger. Presently she was moved to Cape Canaveral and is on the hard since Oct 1st (no Matthew damage at all). Bottom work is in progress and some electrolysis was found on running gear supports. Shafts are in great shape and struts have surface erosion about 1mm deep but props need replacing and in process of locating some. The port transmission is prepared to come out since it stopped shifting into forward (seals) have new Kit from acadian marine transmissions on hand. There are no electronics to speak of except I do have a new Garmin autopilot to pass along if desired. She is a project in progress but the bones are good. Some minor fiberglass work is in order. The deck is solid, no soft spots. I looked at several of these before finding this one and it is in better shape than most in the 75 to 85k range! Interior needs new carpet, all old is removed except for forward and main cabin. This boat is clean inside. If your looking for a solid Hatteras 46c of this vintage this is for you. It is also a great time to look at her since she is on the hard and you can peak under her skirt... Message with any questions $37,000

Nice, and if I were in the market for a 46C I would definitely look at this one. Some of the heavy lifting done already..

Yes Jim it is in good original condition for the most part. It wasn't modified at all since factory new. I did install a new fresh water system and heater since the old one was a bit tired and it had a 110v water pump of some sort i had never seen before. I also have a aqualarm for the engines with a panel not yet installed.. Some other items I am sure I have forgotten...

Re: 79 Hatteras 46 Convertible Price Change

It is my sisters boy man he has the hots for a 46 bothering the mess out of me to help him find one. Kinda hate for him to get one you know who will be the one working on it.(UNCLE TIM)
Have you been toward Hatteras (the marlin club) the storm took it out. It is a mess about 800,000$ in damage.Water about 4 to 5 foot in the dining hall. Taking about taring down and rebuilding.

there is a lot of Hatteras yachts history there it all got wet

Update, she is still on the hard in Cape Canaveral but getting the bottom done (right), new props and the transmission on port side is out and being resealed right now. Still entertaining selling her as my situation has not changed.. So if anyone is interested give me a shout.

Mark
