Good morning,
My 671N J&T with twin disc gears has a slight drip of coolant where the trans cooling line goes into the cooler. the cooler is at the bottom of the H/E. There is a large nut I was wondering if I put a wrench on that maybe that is all I need. sorry I should post a pic. I do not think putting thread sealer on the oil line will help the drip I am getting is red. i checked the gear no coolant getting in that at all. Just an external drip at the trans cooler. thanks

Is your coolant red?

I'm unsure what your trouble description and solution means: you have red engine coolant leaking?? If so, then snugging up a transmission oil nut connection does NOT sound like the solution, but a picture would sure help clarify things.

I don't believe there are a large number of 6-71 J&T boats represented, based on discussions, here so a picture would clarify your style tranny cooler.

Yes my coolant is red, and coolant is weeping around where the trans oil line goes in, not from the oil line I will post a pic thanks

It sounds like the plate at the bottom of the heat exchanger is leaking and it just seems to collect on the hose connection.
