Found a pair of 6/71's and wonder if the would fit in my 76 36C? Thinkin' they might be too big???
Not sure the exact condition...but I got a buddy that's a certified DD mechanic!
Here's the link to the engines....

I have a friend with 3208 Cats in a series 1 36C. they are tight and he has the naturals. I believe the height is the issue. If the 671 is considerably higher than the cat 3208 I forsee a problem.

Mine has 3208T's and they are crammed in. Height is an issue. Measure carefully.

TIB's in a 36? How fast you need to go?

I would not recommend it.

TIB's are rated at 485 hp and used mostly on 42-48' boats. The problem with TIB's is Detroit never intended their 6-71 to push out that much power. These are 1000 hour engines.

Beside the tender nature of TIB's, be aware that the older 36's were never intended to cruise above 25 knots. Above that, stability may be a problem and manifest with a nasty case of chine walk.
