Hatteras Model
43' CONVERTIBLE-Series I (1978 - 1983)
My daughter and son in law recently bought an older convertible (38 I think) with 6-71s. We suspect that they are J&T 671TI engines but aren't sure. Only one engine plate is present, and its damaged, but we can read the S/N which is 6A0380585. It also shows a model # 10633303 or 10633309 for whatever that's worth. I'd really like to know which injectors it has and don't want to go thru the bother of pulling and reinstalling one to find out. I can't read the disk on the side of the injector while its in place. Can anybody here help?

With any luck a detroit dealer/service shop might be able to look up the serial numbers and provide some details?

The serial number will help with what DDC sold the engine with.
90% correctly.

We could SWAG with the whole family number; 6-71 N, T, TI, TIB?
Anybody mention a HP tune?

With out any maintenance or service records the most for sure way to know is to look at one.

Are you having problems or just want to know?

Pm Scrod. BTW how’s the 45? When’s your first trip offshore?

I got a whole sheet on mine by calling Johnson and towers in nj

Thanks, guys. Good suggestions. She's not making full rpm under load. Two cylinders are 100 degrees cooler than the other 4, so I suspected injectors. I haven't done a full tune up on her yet, but I found that cyl 2 thru 6 injectors were not going to full fuel, so it might just be that. I adjusted them but we haven't had time to sea trial. I didn't have my torque wrenches with me so I was hesitant to take something apart that I wouldn't be able to put back together.

Love the 45 Bob. I had hoped to get out for swords on the full moon this weekend, but had a couple conflicts come up. (Like tuning up a couple engines.)
