54 Is 17'6"
60 Is 18'2"

I promised myself I would stay out of this fray but I do have a question. What is the beam on the 54 and the 60MY? Aren’t they both about 18?
17’6” on the 54, and 18’2” on the 60.

Thanks Sky. Goodnight.

Uh, excuse me, Hillary, but redneck is one word, and I won’t even get into “distord”. I said IF the 54 got worse fuel mileage, it would be due to the larger/thirstier engines instead of a minimal difference in beam width. It’s all there for your re-reading pleasure.

Are you sure you’re not flying a Biden flag?

I have disproven your original claim BIGLY, so my win is UGE. :p

So like liberals, facts are cruel and unusual punishment... ignore the fuel curve data posted for various DD engines and go with your interpretation...I have to wonder if you ve even ever driven a boat with flow meters or electronic engines... I guess they don’t teach much in these Captain classes ...

Nope... no Biden flag here... just the Gadsden flag on one boat o and the Blue Lives Matters on the other....

Now THAT is rich, coming from a guy whose third boat is the one he still owns. Your sea time was floating around Biscayne Bay on your 53 and a Bayliner someplace. :p

Yes, I’m breaking your balls, but numbers don’t lie. Had you argued the 54 used a lot more fuel on plane, it would have been a non-issue. You said it did at hull speed. No distortion there, but you never gave any numbers for the engines in question or those of the engines in the 53 which lead to your comment. Sky’s numbers and mine said it all. The fat girls hold their own against the skinnier ones if you run them slow.

What’s wrong with owning the same hatteras for almost 20 years? At least I repowered and fixed mine... Bayliner? Sure that was my first boat back in 84... and that was not on Biscayne bay but in St Barths. That s in the Caribbean in case you’re wondering, not some little backwood lake or river.

Gentlemen, if you can't make this civil, I'm shutting this thread.

I thought we were being civil. :)

Torque is irrelevant and has almost zero purpose for being mentioned in boat/ships. Determining shaft size would be one of those few topics.

There's your problem. Maybe you should use real units?!?

The Motorbarge people luv landlubber mph cause it makes them feel better about waddling along at hull speed.

I like mph on the ICW because it’s all marked in statute miles and my cruise speed is 10mph. Makes it easy to calculate trip time and ETA.

Same here. Unless you’re using paper charts and running coastal, setting things to knots makes no sense... except to those who think it makes them more salty. :D

You are right Jim. I apologize for comparing Randy to a flaming liberal. That was uncalled for and over the top. :)

At least we agree on one thing. :D

I believe some refer to it as more girth.

MY owner here. Would never even consider using statue miles. That's for on-land use.

One minute of latitude equals one nautical mile. If you use a chart, you need to know that. When I run the rivers, I do convert to match up the mile markers but that's easy enough to do if you can do simple math.

Sky your one of the few. Most of these guys would have to drop anchor and call sea tow if their phone dies and they couldn’t active captain down the river. Parallel rules divider compass rose? And they’ll never understand why True Virgins Make Dull Company you need to add Wiskey.

It sure took a long time for my point to catch on, but I think we finally got there.
Are you full of your self? Your point so far has been BS and has made no sense to anybody.
Were just getting tired of you flipping your lip and beating your keyboard with your rubble.
Any day soon you can shut up and the world would be calm, again.
Jim may think I'm rude again but it is really not me this time. I'm just trying to express reality. Your full of stuff and lots here know it now.
Go back to the bath tub fleet that you know so well. F I

I've said it before Sky.

You run on plane, you use the boats as often as possible, you spend money to keep it nice.

You shouldn't be considered a motoryacht owner.
