53MY windshield Wiper Springs

I got new stainless steel springs for my windshield wipers from SAMs. They're very strong. Is there any trick I should know to install these? Do I need to try to remove the wiper assembly, or just unhook and rehook in-situ?They feel too strong to try to stretch them to hook up in place, although maybe one of those semi needle nose visegrips would hold them OK.

doug, it will be alot easier to remove the wiper arm, replace the spring, and then put the arm back on. you will have the entire arm for leverage when replacing, instead of a pair of pliars. bigbill
