There has been a lot of discussion about construction of these Hatts. We just put in new larger egress ports on the stern and inclosed is a photo of the cut out. Balsa core and 2 pretty thick layers of glass. Also showing in this photo is the inner layer of teak ply. The core is just above the waterline, solid glass below. This is a 1974 MY. John
