Okay, pump spec says 8 amp, so something in the 16-24 amp range. Any particular brands or configuration on the converter?

Check our Flo Jet dc pumps, they still make 32 dc models. We use one and it has worked just fine for 2 years now, it is our only fresh water pump so it gets a lot of use. I keep a spare on board in case, less than $200.00

The pump is DC

Any link to a 32 volt shurflow DC? I cant seem to find one. I have a 12 volt battery on the boat for the generator but if the generator is out it aint charging. If the generator is on I have my shallow well pump.
That reminded me that I have a possible solution to generator is off problem. PO had a 12V alternator mounted on the port engine. A nice, but unnecessary, redundancy to have full 12V with generator off since the generator is the only draw. When I found it needing a rebuild/replacement, I just took it off. Besides the generator battery, I've four more Grp 31 12V bats onboard. While not the ultimate in convenience, that's redundant enough for me. With 13 batteries onboard, I can make something jump.

Just how much water were you need'n to pump?
