Anyone know the location of the bearing retaining screws, and the procedure for removing the shaft bearing from the hull / log tube? I can not seem to locate the screws or fasteners that hold the bearing in place. There are no retaining screws inside the boat, and I can not find any on the out side. Is the bearing a flange mount with face screws, or is it attached similar to the strut bearings from the side? I am told a fastener should be at, or near the outside edge of the log tube, but I don't want to drive the bearing out (suggested by some at the marina) until I locate the retaining screws. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. mike

Mike,

I'd call Steve McPhereson. Either he knows, or he can look at a new bearing and log and tell you.
