Hmmm, how about $5?

Dont overpay krush

It amazes me to see how often people will tear a boat up so completely that they turn it into a hopeless project... gotta have deep pockets to pull that off...

Oh but its not a sinker! LOL!!! Anyone notice the beam that runs athwart ships has been cut? Its my understanding that this is a main structural part of the 52 and holds the hull sides from flexing out.

Good point, -$5

Did anyone notice that this is the same boat and same picture as the thread started by Tim powell titled " it's a shame"

And it is a shame!!!

So it is!

the only difference is it looks like the price went up a grand since then!

Mine looked really bad on the outside maybe even worse than this one when I bought it but the engines and interior were all intact and original.

That boat needs Good Grief to the rescue!

That boat certainly looks like its been wet before the way the cabinets are delaminating. I would hate to think the cost to turn that into a usable boat.

Well, My wife said would be dead before I finished the boat ! 2006 the boat did not sink ! now has been through 2 hurricans ! been in the water for 3 seasons. But evan doing and supervising the work I spent a wad of money and in todays econmy I would be in a later model 50'. 1977 42 hat (my way) another $50,000 and I will be happy! Cory

It looks very need and clean you did a super job enjoying you work will be one way of enjoying the boat. I belive in todays market as a buyer or restorer you just have to use a gut feeling and jump in.. But with a little education of boating in todays market wont hurt.. Again a grate jub Tim

A quick look at Yacht World seems to indicate the 52s 84-87 are for sale at about $175K. I would guess that means they sell around $150K. IMHO there is no way a DIY or yard could restore this boat for under $200K.
Krush is overpaying at $5, the guy needss to give you $50K to tow it away.
And one of best ways to tell if a boat has sunk is to count the number of missing and re-placed hatches that have floated away.
Skooch
Restoring a 58 LRC
