Short version of a long story...haven't been on the boat in a couple of years as I kinda washed my hands of it while others "tended" to her. Well, that's changed and I'm getting to know her again. While sorting out various problems, I noticed the fresh water tank was empty and the fresh water pump running full time....I fill the tank and the head pump cuts on and drains the tank via the head thru-hull (no holding tank).

Didn't have time to tear it all apart this weekend, so I figured I'd post it before I go back down this weekend.

(good to see some familiar names still around :))

She's letting you know that she needs you and she's glad to see you, Ricky. :) And yes, most of us are still here.

What head are you dealing with? Some heads have a electrovalve that admits flush water when the switch is activated. Most of these electrovalves need 5 psi differential water pressure minimum to close.

Not really sure...stock I'd guess (whatever that might be for an '85 :)) It definitely seems like a pressure/switch type thing. The vacuum works fine, and disconnecting the "Head Switch" didn't have any effect (thought it might be bad and in full "on"). Once the water is depleted from the tank, I don't hear any pump under the head unit itself.

After going over the boat and documenting all the fun upcoming projects, I just didn't have the energy to pull everything apart...
