45 C Series II question

When you're standing in the engine room between the engines, is the water tank below there? There are two sections of 3/4" plywood, but what's under that? It's clearly not the bottom of the boat.

On my 1979 46 it is exactly that, the water tank. The plywood on mine had a layer of glass on top which was tabbed into the stringers on each side. I removed it too clean out the funk and grime beneath. The plywood was not attached to the water tank itself

I had a 1986 45 seems the water tank or at least one or part was under the starboard bunk opsite the galley.That was the way we got to it actually was under the galley floor. The water tank was leaking and that is where we repaired it it was tight to say the least. If i remember we had to disasemble part of the bunk. If you have the gray plastic box with all the plans it will show you. Where you are standing the tank may go back that far. Standing in the galley will be at the level you are standing now.Very possible the tank goes that far.Hope this helps.

On my 85 45c that would be the keel.

On my 1985 45c between the engines is (from under foot going lower) gray painted fiberglass
attached to plywood, below that is foam (nasty smelling and wet) which fills the cavity down to
the keel. i had to open it up. i could get you a picture in week.

my water tank begins at the bottom of the engine room ladder (that is where my water tank gauge
is located) and continues forward.

What problem are you experiencing?

Thank you all for the replies. This boat has water collecting under the plywood boards and it squished when you walk in there. I took the boards up and vacuumed up the water, oil and yuck. I'm just not sure how water gets in there. I'll post a pic.

On the floor between my engines is smooth painted fiberglass. The forward middle part of the engine room is the water tank. It's up to about knee height and the water pump is mounted on top of it on the level spot.

Below that is the foam and stink i was referring to. I cut a hole about 10" forward of your
documentation #. Below your red exxon bottle should be a bilge pump and thru-hulls for the
generator and raw water washdown.
