  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
41' TWIN CABIN (1965 - 1971)
I'm coming up on 3 years owning this boat as of next week. Except for some ongoing refinements, the refit is mostly done. I have posted some updated photos under my username in the gallery here on the HOF. I also have posted before and after photos on the web at http://41hatteras.com if anyone is interested. Pretty boring stuff mostly - but I'm very happy with this boat and I like the way she turned out.

Classic. Very nicely done. I like seeing these boats when they are mostly original but tastefully updated. This is prime example. Not overdone. You should be proud.

What a beautiful classic. Looks like the boat was owned by yachters who kept it in bristol condition.
Your classy upgrades made her that much nicer. Somewhere the phrase " she is a star" comes to mind.

I'm very fortunate that this particular boat came my way. She has been in the Upper Chesapeake (almost fresh water) and kept under cover since new. I am the 5th owner. She has enjoyed excellent stewardship, mostly by her 3rd owner of 20+ years who had her until 2 years before I bought her. She was at an excellent starting point.

Eric- really nice web site- I'd love to do something similar to chronicle the journey with Cinderella- it will be 5 years now- how did you set that up? I don't seem to get time to post much being that I feel like I always have a varnish brush in my hand...

BTW your after pics are AMAZING!!!!!!!

Looking at photos of improvements to well kept/restored traditional boats may be boring to some people, but not folks here. Nice work. Thanks for sharing.

Thats a clean boat. Nice subtle updates.

She's even nicer in person. She IS a star.

Very nicely done.

Cheryl, This website was really easy and quick. I got the domain name from misk.com I like their dashboard set up which makes the vanity email and domain forwarding really easy. The website itself is from homestead.com (part of Intuit) which has simple "point and click" website templates. Their customer phone support is excellent. Once you get the hang of how homestead's "site builder" works, its quite easy. I could do much more with 41hatteras.com but I just haven't taken the time. I already have enough on my plate with maintaining my personal yachtbroker.pro page plus the bayport company stuff. One of the nice benefits of the domain is the eric@41hatteras.com email address which is easy to remember when I meet people while cruising. I also have business cards for my boat with that email, my cell # and the art that deep river traders did for my t-shirts. So, OK as I type this I realize that I'm a little bit out of control.

Great site Eric. I just bought a 1969 41tc from Annapolis and now berthed in Solomons md. Your pics help me get ideas for improvements. I'd be interested in any skilled vendors you used in carpentry or carpeting. I'd like to get the large frig you have and put the microwave where you did. Thanks
Doug

Hi Kathcap, Welcome aboard. Your new boat is the one that was re-powered with the 240 HP Yanmars, yes? Nice boat. You may want to consider joining the http://classicyachtclub.org Its a great group of classic boat owners here on the Chesapeake. I have a good carpentry guy but Solomon's is a hike from where he is. Post some pics in the gallery of your new boat for us!

yeah we're all a little out of control in our own ways- or else we wouldn't be doing this.

Eric- thanks for the web site info.

may be a nice "winter project" to work on something like that if I can ever get my project list down to a manageable level...

Cheryl

So I finally grabbed a moment to take a look at the pics and I'll echo the previous comments. Beautifully done! She was in good shape before, but you've really brought her up to speed without losing the classic quality that makes these boats what they are. Very nice. No go out and enjoy the results of your work.
