1998 Hatteras 65C Best Deal Out There?

I believe this is the best deal anywhere on a CAT Powered 65 Convertible. If I was in the market I'd be on my way there tonight to make an offer. Looks clean, and at that price you could fish rig it and still be ahead of the game. It's only downside is it's location but more importantely the Older 3 Stateroom layout. Other than that, a low hour, fresh water 65 for $450 would be a deal.

Frankly, I like the one in Key Largo for around 440K.

It has had over 1 Million recently invested in making it pristine, with tower, incredible interior and enclosed bridge. Oh, it only has about 600 hours on the noisemakers also.

Recent exterior paint too! Problem is that it has no bow rails and three staterooms.

Still, VERY tempting. If only I had not given up on fuel costs and in the process of surrendering to sail. <gg>

Yes, very tempting. Just a little to big and expensive for me to keep at this point in my life. I do love the 65 though, and I like that this one has the tournement bridge instead of the conventional double helm open bridge 65.

Update on Sunrise in MI, she just closed at 475K and is headed for the Mid-Atlantic next week.

I doubt there will be another pristine, fresh water, low original hour CAT powered 65 at this number!

That's a great deal. Even with the costs to fish rig it. I agree, I don't think we'll see another freshwater CAT Powered 65 that original and fresh for sale again. The location, and the older 3 stateroom layout hurt it. If it had the updated 4 stateroom midship Master and a conventional hard top/tower instead of that radar arch it would have sold much quicker.

There's a 1998 65 Hatteras in Palm Beach that's rigged perfect, problem is it's a 16V92 instead of CATS boat, and the asking price is high. If this boat was set up like that and having CATS it wouldn't need a thing. Anyway if you are the buyer congrats, it looks like got yourself a great deal on a probably the most Pristine/Original 65 Hatteras Conv anywhere in the world. If not, someone else out there I guess was the lucky one.

My client is the lucky one. It will not be fish rigged so no additional expense there.

That Palm Beach boat is also a Gen 1 boat and, while very nice, is way over priced with those motors.
At their asking price I would be looking at a CAT powered 70.

I agree it's overpriced. If it's the boat I think it is, it was one of the last Dealer Stock 65 Hatteras's Allied Marine had. Also, If it is the boat I'm thinking, I helped care for it before it sold when it was new. Allied actually used it as the lead boat on their annual Bahamas Summer Cruise. I remember it because it was the first one I'd seen with the rounded off trailing edge of the salon windows. The 65 has always been one of my all time favorite boats, for obvious reasons.

Good point. Looking at it again it has the gen 1 air boxes but the gen 2 superstructure. Must have been the transition boat between gen 1 and gen 2.

I can't imagine one of these late 16V92 boats being worth more than 600k. More like something with a 5 in front of it. Great boats though.
