Boat was hauled on 1/12/22. That day the crew had already performed reinforcing block dry fit-up and drilled pilot hole for find actuator location. The final hole is 6-5/8" for the fin shaft.

1/13/22 - Grinding inside and outside of the fin shaft hole to accommodate the support block on inside and the SS plate on outside.

1/14/22 - Removal of all four Vac-U-Flush heads that were located above the area for the actuator. These will be reinstalled back into original location once actuators are installed.

We just did the exact same system install on our 53MY last year. You will love them. Did you do the Multi Sea controller or the newer system?

JD: really appreciate the pics and info--that's exactly what this forum is great at!

Watching with great interest......

Went with the Multi Sea II Controller. The added expense of the newer digital controller did not seem to add much value to me.

I totally agree on the controller. You won’t miss the newer one

1/14/22 Update - The interior spaces have been ground for the glassing of the support blocks.

Had to add some fiberglass to the outside of the starboard side hole to level up the surface to accept the SS outer ring.

Trimming and shaping of the support blocks also underway.

I was amazed how much glass was used on ours to glass those blocks in, never going to worry about any movement. Don’t let your fiberglasser try to short cut the glass job.

What does a naiad install cost on a 50-something Hatt if it’s not too forward to ask? Last I heard it had gone up to $70k.

I was quoted a little less than that. The system hardware was $36K. But that does not include wiring, piping, hoses, etc. or installation. The installation is on a T&M basis.

Is Atlantic Yacht handling the install for you, or did you just use their haulout for stabilized marine or somebody to do it?

Looks like they're doing excellent work.

On ours I installed the cooling pump and the brain box and it still was about $65,000 total. John

AYB is doing the complete install.

Those guys at AYB were around in the 80s when I was just driving through boatyards and dreaming. They will be around after everyone else is gone. They have a lot of experience and do quality work.

I'm very happy with their work so far.... knowledgeable and don't seem to waste time..

1/17/22 Update - Fitting of the support blocks continue. This is a painstaking iterative process. The underside of the support block has to fit the hull shape almost perfectly with no gaps. And for Miss Maggie, the hull in this area is on a curve.

Right, and you want the curve of the wooden block to match the inside of the hull very closely- you can't just fill the gap in between them.

You could fill it. That's what they do when they mount struts. You just have to use the right material.
