Will the scrap cost outweigh the disposal fees?

So....would it be feasible to buy this boat for just the engines? Could you rebuild them for way less than buying some remans? Plus you would have tranny's......

I been kicking around a re-power......this might be a way to get it down for less.....

It's a gamble. The cost to rebuild if they are in as bad a shape as they look is probably close to the cost of remans without having a warranty.

I'd be buying it myself if that were not the case.

I posted about this boat a few days ago here. If someone wants me to check something on this vessel, its just down the road from me. Simply tell me what you want to know, and I will try to go down and check it out for you.

These engines are cheap and easy to rebuild, and in doing so you'll know what you own. Most expensive part of the purchase is relocating her to a place where you can part her out...

...or...

cut her top off and convert her to an express.

She would be a much better candidate for an express conversion than a convertible. Kind of like a chopped '38 coupe. Great idea.

The 34 has a bit of a step chine, too. Lighten her up, she'd really scoot. I bought a 34 with this project in mind, but unfortunately my mind has acquired too many projects...so she sits...and anyone may have her for the taking.

This is likely a better deal. And if she's sitting in a yard, good chance the folks would take a lower offer too get out of the cost of the carry...

I think it would be a cool looking boat with no flybridge and a dark colored hull.

That does sound cool. Go for it! all you need is about 500K and two years to build a sweet $100K boat.

If you're going to pay someone to do the work you are correct. For people who love a project, and do the work themselves,... labor has no cost.

Tell that to your next ex wife.

I dunno, Boatsb. My missus seems to enjoy our boat project. The secret is wise mate selection. ;-)

Sadly true. I stood next to a Ski Nautique in a barn yesterday and heard an associate tell another that this was a $100k boat. They were both astounded at the value. I couldn't help but think about my boat in amazement, in contrast, as far as what that money can buy....

Wow, beautiful little express boat. Looks like a mix of a Rybovich, Gamefisheman, and Old Hatteras. If the rest of the boat looks as nice as the exterior in that picture, I would think it's truely a one of a kind gem. Thanks for the picture, I'm impressed.

That's exactly what I was thinking of.

Looks like she sold for $3650.00. Anyone here the lucky new owner?

Rich

Bidding ended at $3650. Anyone here get it? I was very close to taking a risk but not being able
to get there and see it.... Seems that might have been a decent price for everything that could be taken
out of it. Not only mechanical stuff but other boat parts too. Just a used engine is going for over $2k on
govliquidation right now. Kinda mad that I couldn't have gone and checked it out.
