I have a Hough 65, a 90 and a real antique non-articulated 120 that lost the punkins but has an old Cummins in it,its parked in the back lot and just sitting there, the 65 I put a larger DT 466 in it from a schoolbus, I've rebuilt the Intl V8 engine in the 90 twice, its a little undersized for that loader. I think its a DT 573 or something that size.

That wouldn't be the infamous 9.0 Liter would it? I pretty sure they're a converted gas engine and have never been anything but trouble. Lube oil dilution problems, head gaskets and that lovely gimmick they had in the seventies where it would idle on four cylinders. Problem was it burned just as much fuel as if it was idling on eight and the other four didn't get onboard until it was at about 1400 RPM.

I hear they make excellent moorings though.

It has a basic fuel injection rail almost like a Cat motor, it has had a load of problems, we blew up the first block, piston seized and it took out the liner and bore. We actually have now that I think of it yet another 90 loader that has the engine out, I guess it will be this years project of an engine transplant, I may try to stick a Cummins in though I do have an 8v92 in an old mixer thats not useable anymore and it was rebuilt its the rest of the chassis thats gone and I have cannibalized mixer parts off of it and the drum is shot. The Detroit would be easier to match up to the torque convertor and hydro pumps, the Cummins would stick out the ass end big time.

Did I mention I may have a forklift for sale?

Back on topic, I added some photos to the photo gallery on this site which may be helpful.

Again, I'll listen to all offers including partial trades for anything of value. The offer of owner financing for qualified buyers still stands.

Nice pics, maybe you can legally start a raffle for the 58?

Looks like my motivation to sell these boats has just been elevated. The wife wants a divorce (nothing to do with the boats), so now is your chance. Looks like I don't have the option of waiting out this economy, so bring all offers.

Randy,

Sorry to hear that. Are you coming up for the Rendezvous?

Sorry to hear as well your having marital problems Randy.

Randy, that just sucks! Wish I had the coin to help bail you out on Freebird. Business just pecludes that right now. Moving into a different industry that has stimulus money available and hope we can take advantage of it. Might as well get on the gravey train if I can. If you a shoulder, you know where you can reach me.

Thanks guys, good news is I just got something to take my mind off the divorce thing as my dad was just taken by ambulance to a hospital where he'll have a quadrouple bypass and a valve replacement surgery in FL tomorrow. He had gone in for a heart cath this morning, and they found all sorts of problems he was unaware of.

Noel, I'll make every effort to attend this year, but like they say, these things come in three's. I can hardly wait to see what's next. Will somebody PLEASE buy one or both of these damn boats?

Forget the Damn boats or give her one!!!! The blown engine one? Right now deal with Dad eh?

Noel

Yeah, I'll give her one and have to pay boat support.

no, you pay child support, she gets to pay boat support!!!! LOL what an evil idea, Honey, here's a boat, now you get to spend boat bucks LOL.

Sorry to hear all counts Randy. I guess it's time to move Freebird back to Dinner Key in Miami and open up a bed and breakfast next to Angela and this way you're also closer to your dad. I hear they need plenty of hurricaine proof safes in Southern Florida as well. People up in Palm Beach may be looking for safes rather than putting their money with another money manager, so you can have a thriving business.

Randy I think the market would be good for more gun safes, affordable ones that have a high fire rating, waterproof. On one of my gun forums a poster lost his house because a mini fridge caught fire in his gun room. I think its like over 100 million people are buying any gun they can get and as much ammo as they can. Perhaps design small gun vaults that can be buried, disguised cabinets that look like an ordinary dresser, even cheap fake gun vaults to make a thief stop looking.

Now if you had brought the boat to Merritt Island I 'm sure of 2 things

1) she would be running between Steve, Kent, myself and a few others.

2) Things do not float ashore in the area but travel in the stream to who knows where.

Call me if you need anything. I can't help much but I will listen long distance.

Wow, it's been a long roller coaster ride! Sorry to see it at this point. I hope you make it back up North this year. I have a nice pic of you looking up at Skamm Too from the main dock and I need to update that this year after I get and install Jimmy Watts new windows and frames!

Seriously, we're here if you need a place to run and hide for a few days every now and then.

Randy, I am terribly sorry to hear that. I know that you have been busting your butt trying to make things work in your marriage for the last year or two, especially for Ryan's sake. I am very sad to hear that your wife is giving up. Our thoughts and prayers are with you to move forward and make the best of a difficult situation.

Randy,
Sorry to hear the news, It seems that her mind was made up over a year ago.
Hopefully for Ryan it can be a friendly split. My parents divorced when I was 12 and the worst thing for me was I had to take a side. In the end you both might be happier. If you need another ear, we are here for you.
Dave

First, thanks to everyone for the kind words on the personal front. Things in that department have calmed down over the past couple of weeks and seem to be back on track. Ryan celebrated his 6th birthday last Friday, and this Saturday will be our 17th wedding anniversary. With any luck there will be an 18th. Let's face it, she'd be a fool to let me go. :D

Back on topic, this being a two boat owner is getting old. With that in mind, I'm looking for offers in the $50's for the 41 and in the $70's for the 58. If I can't pull those kind of numbers, I'll just keep being a two Hatt owner. Previous offers of trades and owner financing still stand.
