Me and 3 other new spearfishermen/women went for a day of shooting out of Hudson,Fl. The plan was to run out to 50' and work back in with additional dives at 40' and 30' . Well NOAA and Magicseaweed missed the seas. They were reported to be 2' but ended up 3-4'. We only made it to 30' before we decided to change plans. One diver was feeling ill so she sat out the first round. I popped 4 hog fish and 2 gags, not a bad start. The second dive I went with Ginger and gave up my gun for the dive. She did well and had a nice red grouper rip off and got her first hog. I helped out at the end of the dive with another hog and a gag. The final dive another diver gave me the 411 on a mango location and I spent most of my time working them. Dang they are challenge to shoot but I got 3. I popped another gag and called it a day. The seas settled down by mid day and it ended up to be a wonderful day on the water.
final tally (4 divers)
6 Grouper
14 hogs
6 mangos
