    Cruise Air Units

Doubt anyone will want them... but I just decommissioned my old Cruise Air AC units. A friend of mine is an HVAC tech and drained the units. I'll pull them out in the next week or so and they're free to anyone who wants to pay shipping. All 4 units came out working.

Re-plumbing the boat with PEX as I'm hitting each area. Thus far, everything forward of the engine rooms is now PEX. I'm finding it easy to work with but the nuances of valves and hose attachments isn't as clean as copper... at least not with the parts available at Fisheries Supply in Seattle.

There are two hatches in my galley. If something goes wrong I can get to the battery/genset room via the hatch under the galley table. I haven't finished raising the that hatch yet to match the elevated benches/table but you get the idea. Cheers, Ryan

    Galley Complete Remodel - CPMY

Today I'm starting installation of insulation against the hull. As we live aboard and winters in Seattle average in the 30's-40's we figured as we can get to any hull area we'll insulate. After reading many forums about boat insulation, we opted for the Corning Formular for it's water and mold...

After reading many reviews and talking to a few folks that own them, we picked the Splendide vented combo washer/dryer model wd2100xc which runs on 120V. http://www.splendide.com/splendide_wd2100xc.htm We've done about 10 loads of laundry through it now with great success. Towels, sheets and...

    Galley Complete Remodel - CPMY

This project was originally planned for this coming winter after boating season but due to an appliance mutiny I was forced to start now. It all started a week ago when my wife was out of town and the garbage disposal quit on a Wednesday. Not a big deal, ordered a new one... On Thursday the...

    Factory tour

My wife and I took a tour a few years back while on vacation in OBX. I emailed ahead and setup a tour and they were very accommodating. Agreed the physical plant looks dated but the work floors were clean and they certainly gave us the grand tour from the stringers being laid out to the new...

    8V71TI Forward Fuel Rate

Does anyone know the forward fuel flow rate on the 8V71TI's? Working on a home-brew fuel consumption system and need to size my positive displacement flow transducers. I know max consumption is just under 25GPH but I'm unsure of the actual flow rate. Cheers, Ryan

    53 MY Shower Basins

Has anyone taken apart the fiberglass shower basin in their master and mid heads? I started stripping the caulking out of the master shower today to address the failing caulk and also reseal the access hatch which allows water to get into the bilge. Suddenly, my first mate shows up and...
