Metal Polish Hack (for lazy polishing)

A buddy of mine brought me some 3M 3000 grit polishing pads to play with. I could not imagine what I would ever use them for, but he said some people polish glass with them. I had very bad mineral and rust on my windshield so I gave it a try. These things are like a scotchbright pad with...

Looking for Teckspertise (new word) on Battery Chargers

I have a Sentry FR series 32 volt charger that I believe is less then 10 years old. Instead of giving a full charge, and shutting off, it charges to about 28 volts, and starts this surging thing. If I put it on manual, it charges everythong up fine, but obviously wont shut off. Any Ideas?

Shake Down Cruise from Aransas Pass TX to Seabrook TX

On day two (Saturday) we were in and out of fog, but the sun shone as we approached Freeport TX. I took full advantage of the skilled boat drivers, and sunshine to jump on one of the numerous projects, prepping the 45 year old teak rails for maybe Alwood?! As we pulled into our new slip seems...

Shake Down Cruise from Aransas Pass TX to Seabrook TX

Friday AM at 0800 hours I pulled Country Girl (soon to be Aquamarine) out of Mile 533 Marine Ways in Aransas Pass TX for what turned out to be a fairly uneventful (Thank God) trip to League City TX and out new home on Clear Lake. With the help of these two local boys we motored up the TX ICW...

Looking for Hatteras specific electrical ideas

I spoke with a few of the sam's folks, and they each had a different opinion. Bottom line, the "fault breaker" is not longer made (seemed to be a bad design...go figure). Paul said to get wire diagram and figure it out from there. So here it is. I believe the part I circled is the change...

    A 32 V solution to a shower light

Because of my height I wanted a recessed light fixture for the shower. I found an LED that would do the trick, knowing I would have to wire 110v AC. When I got the fixture to the boat and opened the packaging, I found the perfect 5" by 1/2" disk to install, but there was also a control box...

Looking for Hatteras specific electrical ideas

New to me 1975 Hatteras 64' MY. Very little has been changed from delivery (weird I know). Having fun learning how to work all the vintage systems, but dang if they are solid as the bottom! One issue I cannot get my head around though on AC side. When I turn on the main refrigerator in the...

    Name This Part!

Need some help with this. I know it is a transformer of some type, but what is it for. I found it attached to a plug under the pilot house helm. There were no wires attached, but it is warm to the touch. Only thing I can think of i s it may have something to do with the non functioning...

    Tideslid mooring system hy-60

I am selling 3 very large (heavy duty) piling mounted mooring units. Once bolted to your dock pilings, you tie off to these. Your boat then rides the rails close to the dock, and moving with tide and wave action. These are designed for BIG boats up to 125,000 pounds and travel 5' up and down...

Well Now I've Gone and Done it!

Three years ago I started my search for what I thought would be the perfect boat to acquire, refurbish, and live aboard. I have made the leap and have committed myself to 1975 Hatteras 64' (yes the V-Drive boat). A neglected gem that will take years of TLC as well as blood sweat and...
