Not Currently A Hatteras Owner
Morning We are in Exumas & keep getting red fault button on gen. I think the coolant sensor may be reason pic attached

I am trying to figure out how to jump it has 3 spades. TEST, SIGNAL, & POSITIVE

Help greatly appreciated really need this gen run have temp bypass in place. The issue is it also bypasses the safeties.

Never seen one with a test terminal. These switches do go bad and I always carry spares along with oil pressure, flow etc. They can’t be fixed

Where are you in the Exumas? Your best bet is to order a new one and have it sent to Makers Air at Ft Lauderdale executive. They ll have it available in Staniel the next day. Check their website for details, great service and reasonable.

Thanks know about makers first want to test sensor. I can't find anyone who has seen this and manufacturer is clueless.

I guess wii try to call onan see if have any old guys around that know

That sensor is the very reason I had to replace my Onan--searched and searched for months and could NOT locate one. Best of luck
 
Should be pretty standard and replaceable with a generic switch. I just did that on my orphaned Norpro. Onan didn’t make these switches, they are off the shelf.
 
Yeh know it will be an issue finding replacement just . Do either of you know how to test it ? That's my first problem have not come across a 3 spade Test, Positive & signal wire sensor
 
I would ignore the test terminal. Check for continuity between the terminals cold and then with heat gun!? I be never bothered testing them.
