  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
41' CONVERTBLE-Series I (1964 - 1971)
Our old autopilot, the original Wood Freeman, was left in the boat. The autopilot wasn't working as someone let the smoke out of the part in the engine room, so I pulled the box out from behind the helm (anyone need the control box?)

I'd like to get the rudder indicator to work indepdendently of the rest of the system, and am wondering if anyone knows a simple way to drive the signal from the sensor on the rudder, directly to the analog gauge.

Thanks,

Rudder indicator? what for? i usually turn the wheel hard over before leaving the dock (jsut to make sure steering works...) then 2 turns back to center.

i guess Sanctuary's to do list has shrunk considerably since you've been in town! :-)

Yea, and I always realize it wasn't left centered when I'm trying to leave the slip, after you've driven her! LOL

Hey, this is all for you anyway...you wanted the gauges working, and this is the only one left that doesn't (once I get the sender of course)

We have two to-do lists. Gotta do's and Wanna Do's. When I knock something particularly nasty off the Gotta Do list, like battery boxes, or fixing a head, I pick something from the Wanna Do list.

Don't worry, I'll have a sander in my hands, polish under my finger nails, or in some other way have trashed another set of cloths before this week is over!

lol...

yep... i use them rudders... that's why they put em on the boat! :-)

and music up on the flybridge will make the crew happy...

Hey, I see in Ed's signature, he must have logged enough hours on Sactuary to become a two boat owner now.

He's always been a partner. He earned his oars by letting me drag him all over the country for a couple of years "boat shopping" until we found "her". I wouldn't be here and in this boat had it not been for his assistance and guidance. LOL Now, he's a yacht broker in Florida, as well, so others can benefit like I did. Too bad he wasn't one when we were buying Island Time (now Sanctuary).
