Hatteras Model
38' FLYBRIDGE DBLE CABIN (1972 - 1978)
It takes about an hour to boil water on our stove. Here is what I think may be the problem, your comments are welcomed. I think the 110 volt burners were replaced with a like size but designed for 220v..... Does that sound like a good bet? Any idea where 110 volt burners are available?

Thanks, Rick

If you use it a lot then convert it to 220volts. You could either send it or take it to galley maid and have them rebuild it or just buy some parts and do it yourself. I took mine directly to their plant they redid it and it came out great.

It would certainly cook faster, if he's got 220V in the boat. Not all of us do. :(

Good idea Gary, problem is, that would require running a new 220v line from the breaker box, right? Or was the 110v wire large enough to convert?

You need 4 wires if your going to do that. 220V uses two hot legs where 110V uses only one. It's not un-doable, but it's usually an electrical Pandora's box. Does your genny produce 220V? Most will, but re-wiring is usually required. If your boat is all set up with 110V only I wouldn't attempt it.

Supply to mine is 220v, however I think the oven is the only 220v part. I believe the burners are 110v. I am in the process of changing mine out with a little newer style glass top. If the burners have a stamp on them Princes web site could tell you what voltage they are.

We also have a 3 burner princess stove. Only takes a few minutes to get the water to boil... And it's a 110v.

Does it take the same time on all 3 burners? Mine is a 3 burner with 2 1100 watt elements and one 550. If they are all the 550 I expect the hour is about right. maybe someone re;placed the burners with the wrong ones.

Where are you getting your glass top. I priced a 220 glass top Force 10 at WM for about $1500.00. Do you know of a better deal.
Chris

Usually anywhere is a better deal than worst Morons. I know the 110 V princess glass top 3 burner with the oven is $1100 at Lewis.

I hafta agree with you Chris. Coming up from Mobile, we ran the stove on a 110 generator (3500 watt) and if we used just one burner it got RED fast, two burners a bit longer and so on. The oven is 220 I believe.
FWIW Rick, pretty soon I a going to pull the 4 burner princess out. If you need parts PM me! Got a nice flat top like new for free! ALSO, if anyone needs the dishwasher or for parts, let me know or out it goes! ws

Oh come on Bill...... WHERE'S THE PICS.....

That's a beaut there Bill. I think you might need a little Extend on that one :)

The Admiral wants ours gone cause she says that she just can't get it come clean. I guess maybe I need to show her yours.

Every time I open that baby I get the heeby jeebies! Kinda reminds me of out door plumbing! ws

Is it possable to remove the top and leave the oven part? I would love to do that and replace the top section with a flat top ceramic style cook top..

Cheers!
