8-92 used the wrong oil

Last year before run to Bahamas I decide with 40 hours on the 2024 oil change it can't hurt to pull out 5 gallons a side and replace with fresh oil. Didn't look at the blue pails of 400 that they said were 100. So I ran 80 hours with the high ash oil. Didn't notice any change in oil consumption, oil pressure, exhaust, or anything. Mechanic says I'm fine for such a short period and just get it changed. Thoughts from the experienced DD owners here?

That was the DD spec for several years before they became aware of the problem and changed the spec back. I wouldn't worry about it at all. But I would change it.

Since Napa is out as a supplier I decided to check a local fishing supply in Mad Beach. Fisherman,s Ideal Supply house has Delo 100 for $89 a pail. Very good price. Looked at zincs and other items and pricing is very good. Worth a look for anyone in Tampa Bay area.

It's not going to hurt it short-term, over thousands of hours it'll contribute to sludge and wear, but not for that short a time.

It is the CF-2 rating that is most important.
IMO, ash is further down the list as a priority to look at for Detroit 2-stroke oil.

These are the CF-2 oils that I have used during my life. No issues on any of them.

Chevron Delo 100 40
NAPA part # NOL 75118

I have never used it but big old trucks use it up;
Sinopec CF-2 40
