Looks like Debby is going to be a Hurricane before it hits land then stay together as a TS on through to the other side. Last night it barely became a hurricane before it hit land now it’s a H further out in the gulf over the boiling hot water.

NHC has a history of underestimating rapid intensification, especially in the gulf. Wouldn’t be surprised if it is a 90kts storm at landfall

That one hopefully will be a Lowrider and head for the Yucatan

We are in Punta Gorda and the storm is about due west of us right now. Winds not too bad, but quite a lot of rain from this one. Tides are still incoming and higher by about 1-2 feet.

Hopefully Debbie will keep on moving North and be out of here soon. Good luck to all you further up the coast as this is expected to intensify in the next few hours.

We got quite a bit of wind here in Hernando Beach and enough surge to cover the road in some spots. There were a few houses that got some water in them but not near as many as Idalia. I got 1 inch in mine in Idalia and this was a good 16-18" from getting in mine, if not more. The storm hit in pretty much the same spot as Idalia but was a Cat 1 when it hit where the other was a 3. Hopefully we are one and done this year but it is a long way to the finish line.
