Trim tab modification

I am trying increase stern lift on our 43’ Hatteras SF and I am tossing around the idea of installing a block of Starboard between the trim and where the ram/strut attaches to the trim tab. My thought is it would allow for the tab to go down further and in turn create more lift. Our Hatt has the Boat leveler brand trim tabs. When I am sitting at 7/8’s fuel or more, I have to run with full tabs. Has anyone done a similar mod to their Hatt? Successful? Thanks in advance!

Or you could add some fiberglass sheet to the transom for some real stern lift.
