  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
52' COCKPIT MY (1990 - 1999)
Need to get to Shorepower Source 2 fuseholders, receptacle and cable. I can see the bottom of the aluminum box they are in from below from down in the salon but can't get into the box from the back.
If I remove all the 12 or 14 hatt square head screws and pry off the panel from the sealant expect to have enough slack in the wires to do work from up on deck in the lazarette?

That’s how you get access in our boat. A 61 MY . There is enough slack unless the cables have been shortened by replacing cable lugs . It’s probably original. Replacing the cable ends with blind lugs and heat shrink would be a good idea.

I just did this. Took out the screws, replaced the fuse holder that was bad, then had trouble getting the box back in position. I ended up having someone push the box back up into place from behind so I could get the screws back in.

Great insight provided. Thanks gents.

I had to do this right after we arrived in Fort Myers. I had to pull my port side box/panel to replace the "smartplug" the PO had installed. I had enough slack to pull the panel out, R&R the plug and reinstall. 1986 54' MY.
