Veto beach report, $3.73 on Friday,$3.93 today, Sunday. John

Fuel up date, can’t understand it. Manatee Pocket diesel $4.78 at Pirates Cove Marina and $3.59 at the very top of the creek. Maybe old stock verses new stock?

Just passed a fuel dock in North Palm $7.20 for diesel.

Then it must be 10 bucks at Burdines. They are so proud of their fuel.

We learned to just stick with our municipal marina. Although sometimes they can be a bit higher 90% of the time they are in the low bracket. Then in the last time fuel went so high we realized they stayed much lower and more stable. We were so grateful that at the end when prices finally were coming down we stuck with them even though higher as their price only changed with each new delivery. Besides traveling fuel and a few truck deliveries (needed it as I was working out of town) I buy 100% from Mad Beach Marina. As does my son on the 34.

We briefly stopped at a Staniel Cay today to get some gas for the tender and toys and I was very surprised to see diesel was still $4.75, same as January. It s odd because they sell a lot of fuel so it s not like they have old diesel in the tanks

I used to notice the fuel in the Bahamas was clear as gin the boat ran better and cleaner. Several dock masters told me their fuel came from Venezuela.

Seems prices are going down (quickly) , at least my road diesel with discount program is. $4.60 last week at a TA, now $4.009 (Not a typo)

Left at 9:30 this morning thinking we would take our time. Arrived early. As soon as I got out in the gulf I planed off and cruised it. Can’t help it. Boat was made to run. I’m just going to ignore the fuel bill. Life is too short. I’ll be 59 next month. I don’t want on my stone “Here lies Mike. He saved a couple bucks and missed out on all the fun”.

Still since we have done the Keys several times I will defer that trip. I’ll just find some cool new spots.

I go to Europe every year to snow ski (pre covid) which is not extravagant because it is a group trip, usually 60 to 75 people (this year 40). Had a set back and ended up in a hospital in Milan after skiing in Switzerland. Flew home and spend 2 weeks in the hospital in DC. Friend Wayne called and gave what my wife described as the greatest Pep Talk she had ever heard to me. Wayne and I had been having some good times in Lauderdale and on his 29' center console that he wanted to follow me to the Bahamas with. I was getting discharged so sife called Wayne's cell phone for him to give me another Pep Talk. Daughter answer's Wayne's phone. He's dead of a stoke. SPEND the MONEY NOW! You can save more later. Bon Jovi said, "It's MY life, it's now or never. I ain't going to live forever." I wish I had more money now but at 72 what do I think I am waiting for???

We did revise the trip. Going as far south as Fort Myers. Planned stops are (in no particular order since so will be on the way down and some coming back) seafood shack Bradenton, Crows nest Venice, Cabbage Key (2 times), South Seas, Tween Waters, and Pink Shell Fort Myers beach. All over a 2 week or so period. Any other suggestions are welcomed.

It's a balancing act. If you do it right you're at $0 after the cleanup crew is paid. Outliving a sizable amount of money is nice for your kids, and running short can be a problem..... We're having fun (see my Avatar lol) but we can always scale down and go flip flops and a $20K chugga chugga. I'll let you know how it went when I'm done.

Having gone through a recent health "You should be dead" scenario, I have been given a second chance. I think I am finding myself leaning a little more towards the Live-It-Up mindset! Money permitting of course!

I have been keeping the old girl pretty full, but we did put in about 75g in the Aft tank and 250g in the forward today. Picture is from a couple of weeks ago, but price is still $3.72.
