  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
34' CONVERTIBLE (1965 - 1969)
I think I am among them just because my tanks are topped off! 😄😄😄

Only problem is this weekend we travel about 70 miles round trip and that’s like 130 gallons or so. 😱 Going to do the run, staycation around home more this year, and canceling the Keys trip. Bummer days. At least it’s nice where we are to staycation. 👍 And yes, I just admitted I’m a baller on a budget.

topped mine off today, i don't plan to change my boating habit, i'll cut back somewhere else.. but of course everything is skyrocketing.

Topped ours when it went into the barn at the marina last fall @$3.50 so get a cheap start this spring.

Fuel is only a fraction of the overall boating budget… yeah it’s sucks but the higher the fuel prices the shorter the misery will be. Mid terms are coming.

At 5$ (it's getting close) looking at a $6K fuel bill. Not cheap, have the means, but at a certain point it gets to be a bit too much.

I feel y’all’s pain. At $5/gal (which it’s nearing now) that’s almost $4k to fill the tanks.

You guys sound like you are in California or something. I just filled up n Vero Beach yesterday and it was $3.73 with no discounts for volume. I also filled my California boat about 2 weeks ago and it was $4.75 with a volume discount. John

$3.73, truck or marina? I refilled the “office” ahead of leaving for the Exumas next week. Used Peterson barge it was $3.92 for 3300 gallons

It’s not just fuel either. I’m glad that I had oil in the basement and was able to do my oil change. I went online yesterday to Summit Racing to restock my Mobil Delvac 1240 only to find out that it’s unavailable.

Diesel on the road for my pickup yesterday in CT was $4.86.

Wonder how much of it is the fuel industry adding on a premium because they can get away with it right now.....

None. Gas/diesel prices are way behind the rise is oil's global market pricing. Gas will be $5 in a month as expensive oil moves through the refining process. Better top 'em off now.

We're making Putin rich. And how nice of our "friends" in Saudi A deciding not to increase short-term production to help out a bit.
The West is imploding in a cluster of inexplicable self mutilation.

Pascal it was at the fuel dock at Vero Beach Marina. Guy said they were the cheapest around. Didn’t look today, it could have gone up, I will look tomorrow, say a Hatteras’s sports fisher there today, looked like he was filling up. John

Left at 9:30 this morning thinking we would take our time. Arrived early. As soon as I got out in the gulf I planed off and cruised it. Can’t help it. Boat was made to run. I’m just going to ignore the fuel bill. Life is too short. I’ll be 59 next month. I don’t want on my stone “Here lies Mike. He saved a couple bucks and missed out on all the fun”.

Still since we have done the Keys several times I will defer that trip. I’ll just find some cool new spots.😎😎

Marinas are sometimes behind with fuel prices changes. Truck and barges are impacted faster as they get fuel at the depots daily.

$4.71 in Vero beach at the truck stop. WaWa had it 4.19.

The truck stops are a monopoly rip off. I used to use flying j all over the country. Been years since I have fueled up there. Extra 40-50 cents a gallon? Toppsey says forget about it! I tow a 44’ camper and spend time on google satellite pictures figuring out where to stop for fuel on trips. Not going to pay their highway robbery prices.

Indeed. Love oil etc. are whores. We went by a Murphy oil near Savannah a few days ago it was 4.19 for diesel. Yesterday it was 4.49.

I have been blowing money getting the boat ready for my first extended cruise in a couple years.

Watermaker, GPS, VHF's, antennaes, wifi bridge, flybridge and aft deck canvas, re bed glass windows, alternators, inverter, tender re-tube, and galley cosmetics. My wife can tell you the total spend. It sounds like she is quoting in pesos.

Got lucky and bought 1,100 gallons at $3.39 last week at our club. Today's price $5.09. Tell the wife that's dollars not pesos.

I've owned motor yachts for 25 years. When things are going well financially, I cruise. For some reason that always correlates to high fuel prices even though my businesses have no correlation.

Echo the thought that burning fuel is the cheapest aspect of boat ownership and at age 58 there is no point for waiting for better fuel prices to cruise.

At $5 per gallon and 9 knots, it only costs $0.28 for every hundred yards from Tampa to Exuma. They didn't make me pay for fuel in the Navy and I should have considered that before getting out and buying my job.
