Systems to shutdown

I am curious what standard practice everyone uses when leaving the boat for a few days. Which systems or breakers do you shut down?

If you need de-humidifiers, Leave one of the upper A/Cs on, then fridge and battery chargers.
I would prefer that all A/cs are off but this depends on your needs and maintenance history.
30 year old hoses? Close the cocks and leave the A/Cs off.
For security, maybe a low wattage (LED) light or two.

What else do you think needs to be on for a FEW days?

Less than a week I leave the AC on but turn off fresh water pump and water heater. I usually run just one chiller to reduce the chance of the shore power tripping

Over a week I shut down the AC but leave the sea cocks open

I don't run AC when I am not at the boat (I have a couple fans to circulate the air). The only breakers I turn off are the water heater and water pump. And of course, if we are on shore water, I turn that off as well. I leave seacocks open.

Shore water, water heater, water pump and 1 AC if returning within 1-2 days.

Under roof so no direct sun. 2 days or 2 weeks same drill:

AC's off
1 light on in salon
Fridge on
ALL through hulls closed
Water pump off
Water heater off
All battery chargers on

I have fans running 24/7 in fwd cabin, main cabin and aft SR. WH off, Water pump off. No air running. Inverter, refrig and battery charger always on.

VICTRON VRM works great. Its all in how you set it up.

Fridge on, bar freezer off and left open, toilets off. Leave water pump on. We only use tank, never shore water. This way fresh water stays..."fresh".

Dehumidifier is a big plus we use. I got lazy last year and developed mold on the woodwork. Very light and cleaned off easy due to new finish. Run Dehumidifier and ZERO mold.

A few times a year I run the Ozone generator to freshen up the boat plus it kills hidden bugs.

Ozone generators work great. They kill everything and take any smells out. I had one for at least 15 years and it finally died...will get another now that I'm reminded.

The ozone is corrosive and you don't want to be around when it's on. However, it's great once in awhile, especially before guests arrive.

Yes, I like it. I'm sure there are other setups that do the same for the same or less, but it's good to have the data.
