  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
53' MOTOR YACHT (1969 - 1988)
I am tempted to buy a boat that is for sale in San Diego. Asking $65,000 with brand new Cummins 6BT-210 engines with 2 hours on them. How much are those engines worth? Seems like they would be worth what they are asking for the boat.

I think the cost would equal the asking price but then you’re left with the labor to switch them out and getting rid of the hull. Cutting it up will cost you about 10K. Well that’s what it would cost up here. They are great motors for sure.

If you plan on cutting up the hull, I would think it would be much easier to get the motors out.:)

Yep, stringers under it could be the shipping cradle.....

Back when I got quote in 2016, the 260 or 315 6BTAs with new ZF were just under 31k each. The 6CTAs were $38k also with new ZF

I m sure the price went up in 4 years but I don’t see buying that boat just for the engines being worth unless you have access to free labor and free storage. Unless maybe the genset is in great shape.
