Kevin Jackson is in Hilton Head. He is the best marine mechanic I have ever been involved with. He works on my MANs. I would like to think he would work on Detroits but who knows. Not cheap, not super friendly till you get to know him, but honest and very good. His number is 843 830 9202. Good luck. Also Williams Detroit Diesel should be able to help.

I understand Carlos is the best Mechanic in Charleston. He was too busy to help me out! He is over by Ross Marina who I like for work. https://maritimedieselsolutions.com

Ryan who works at wwwilliams.com is solid with DD. Did some work on mine.
Chris Shattuck is the contact, Branch Manager, 7100 Design Street, Charleston, SC 29418

What’s the issue? That might determine best mechanic.

as ever, thanks (in general) to this forum (and in specific) to you for such a prompt and focused response!

You are welcome. Good luck. Knowing bent rod I might would go with someone other than Kevin because he is more of a 1 man band and that might be too much work for 1 man to do on any kind of accelerated schedule. If you got time and not much of a schedule then he would be fine.

How about an AMAZING detroit mechanic that will travel from Florida?

I have a detroit expert that works on trucks (port nearby) that is fantastic and cheaper and in covid world his business is slow.
PM me if a savannah guy could help.
