Upstairs between the tender and the settee

So where do you stow those big, bulky things?

After I'd owned my boat for several years I opened ALL the panels covering the exhaust tubes where they pass through the master stateroom. Behind some of them, I found about a dozen, huge Taylormade
Fenders.. all deflated of course... but a great place to store them. Mine and others have an air compressor attached to the engine, so filling them is no problem.

I used to have those fenders, too. But I found fenders from Subsalve, the guys who make lift bags and salvage gear- they really deflate, and they also sell fender sox for them that work great. I have four of them, two big and two really large. I can raft up with just about anyone using these. They are amazing. Subsalve.com, I think it is. They are in RI, IIRC.

I wondered. Rather a sudden cut off, what?

Have you seen these Subsalve fenders, Randy? They are the bomb. Even kind of resemble bombs. And my friend who dives the Outer Banks uses their lift bags, loves them.

Nope, can’t say that I have.

Pick one.

A) take the yearly trip to the fuel dock.

B) Change slips.

c) bring aboard groceries

:)

So, I am guessing that you have to inflate them, stop in the marina overnight, deflate them then roll and store them the next morning, then inflate them again in the late afternoon for the next overnight stop? How do they deflate? With a shop vacuum?

They inflate with a dinghy foot pump, or electric pump. To deflate them, you push the air out. And they roll up.

We purchased fenders from Megafend of Ft. Lauderdale and love them. Both cylinders and balls. They sell the socks as well. The smallest balls were perfect for locking through the Chobe (Okeechobee) and hopefully the Erie and Welland. Just use a vacuum or any air source to inflate. Press the valve to deflate. Light weight and easy to use, I'm sold more importantly the Admiral loves them. We also purchased four of their fender hangers. I agree with the racks on the bow but hate the thought of the up and down the fly bridge ladder to store.
Interesting side bar, the owner of Megafend was a passenger on a TWA 727 that had a bomb explode in the forward cargo compartment in Greece.

Hey, don't leave us hanging. Did the 727 safely land?
