Yeah, that little one was not exactly the zenith of Hatteras graceful design.

Kind of looks like the 29-33' Bertram which has a cult following. If the boxy flybridge enclosure where to vanish, I'd say that was a cute little Hatt.

AMC Pacer has a (small) cult following too..... :p:p:p

(Not putting it down. People having fun with their toys is good. Glad they're keeping them afloat and out of the land fill.)

I find that comment to be offensive.

Pascal has installed new engines and everything!

Some boats are born ugly like the Cargile Cutter.

Others are midificated. Thats a merge of modified and defecated.

Boats are like a woman. There is something beautiful about ever one of them.

As long as we are talking about ugly on our boats, my vote is for those stupid front seat above the galley that face the foredeck. We have never sat there once and if the cut away for them was never there we would have enough storage to get rid of both deck boxes, something else that uglifies our boats.

Oh, you mean like what Lazarra did with his fore deck? I have plenty of storage space where you describe.

One deck box is filled with 1” dock lines, anchor bridle, anti-chafe gear, pilothouse window shade screen, pilothouse window cover and a few other canvas bits. The other has all my water hoses, water filters for dock water, saltwater wash down hose, all my hose fittings, quick disconnect fittings, filter wrenches and hose nozzles. Seat boxes have all my small lines and cordage in one and a bin with two complete sets of zincs for running gear, engines and tender in the other. I also keep small parts there for the motor scooter we carry as well as oil and filter.

We live aboard, travel constantly and I don’t have the luxury of having easy access to my storeroom. If I need it, I need to have it with me. If I had storage instead of seats, I could get rid of the deck boxes and still keep all my spares.

Funny how we all use our boats differently... we use that bench all the time! The deck Boxes aren’t bad, they kind of belong on the older classics and provide a lot of storage. And extra seating

We love those and use them all of the time. I wouldn't have a boat without them.

I too love the bow seat, but I don’t like deck boxes. In addition, a absolutely HATE fender racks on the bow as they tend to obscure my vision from the pilot house.

Now then, what was this thread about again? :D

I agree on the fender racks. Hate em

Come on, man, show some hate for those deck boxes too!

Normally I would say anything extra on the bow detracts from the lines of the boat, but I really like the extra seating and storage of the deck box.

But it has to be a real deck box. A deck box has feet. A dock box has none.

Huh? I love my deck boxes and fwd seat as well. Its a favorite of the dogs too.

I got rid of the fender racks... looks cluttered like a sailboat with water jugs :)

Some of you may think I am the bow clutter king. I have got the fender racks, deck boxes, big round fenders, davit and dinghy.

So where do you stow those big, bulky things?

Just leave them hanging at the dock. It's not like you need them when you
