That's not a 65 my.

It s a 53. It s just two or three boats from mine in the yard. Looks a good as any boat will look after 3 months on the hard :) Bottom looks good, so does the running gear Nd there is no sign of storm damage but i haven been on board. I thought they were asking a lot more than that

From my experience that is about the right price for a semi trashed 53 MY, especially if the engines have issues. I bought mine with good engines but very poor cosmetics for the same price. John

Oh John it just needed a little wax. LOL

If in fact those engines check out well this would be a good project for someone who is so inclined.
Thirty years or more ago I would have considered such an undertaking.

Not sure of the year it was manufactured but it looks like it had twin bunks in the master stateroom
and that alone puts it in the mid 70's or older.

Walt my thought exactly, however the add said it was a 1987, don’t think so. In 87 they had 6-92 engines. John

That's the date it was last run. Not when it was made.

It's a 75-77 vintage. Big portlights on the transom and old style bridge.

Its mid 70s, i looked at the HIN a couple of months ago. I dont know the story, i believe the yard is involved in one way or another as its been there for 3 months or so... at $2600 a month. Cant believe the owner would store it there...

Mine is a 79 with twin beds in the master and large port lights.

"... the engines turn on fine..." lol.

It's actually, "motors turn on fine". The crafty devil is talking about various electric motors on the boat to get around claims of false advertising. :D

Dont rub them the wrong way.

Looks like an athwartship queen/double to me. I'm glad that boat isn't closer as it might make me do something stupid... again.

Well, there ain't no free lunch. It's priced for a reason.

There was a 55C I looked at briefly when it came on the market in 2012. Starting price was $200K. Ran across it again in 2014 listed at "$50,000 OBO." The 2012 ad stated owned by tug boat company owner and freshly majored 12V71s by in-house mechanic. The 2014 listing stated both motors had 50 hours and would run on a limited basis, but both had cracked rings.

One would tend to think buying a boat from folks in that business with their own mechanics would be a plus. That's sure what the ad seemed to imply. That was a good lesson I'm glad I didn't have to learn.

Aren't those 6/92's in the photos?

Good catch Randy... I believe you're correct. Another thing I noticed after looking at the photos
again is that the engine air intakes are the later version so it just may not be as old as originally
thought. Randy, when are flying out to buy it....lol

Right after I talk to you about a loan! LOL

Motors turn on fine...doesn't mean that they actually start.

Buy it knowing that you'll be rebuilding/replacing...always plays on words worry. "Engines are rock solid" equates to "Engines are as useful as anchors."
