Are they big enough? Or maybe I need to loose a few pounds :)!

I have two in mine as well. They are also great for letting lots of fresh air in.

Pascal, they are a lot bigger than they look in the picture. You can see the old small portlights to the right, that is the old center one. I thought you were doing the same thing. Plenty big enough to crawl through. Same hatches as used on the 80’s and 90’s cockpit motor yachts in the 65 to 80 foot range, they were mounted on the sides of the boats in the aft cabin. John

Outside shot of new portlights, had to cut down the flange that sticks out, used a saber saw with a metal blade then ground it down, sanded and painted. They actually look like the came from the factory. John

Very nice John. Custom 3 ports in the stern.

What brand were the new egress portlights please? Were they metal or plastic? I'd like to do the same for our very dark port side twin cabin.

A previous owner installed 4 large Bomar egress portlights in the master stateroom when the cockpit extension was added in about 1988.

I bought mine from Sam’s, they were made by Freeman in Oregon and are aluminum painted Hatteras white with 4 large dogs, beautifully made, same as they used on the larger motoryachts in the 80’s and 90’s. John

Forgot to mention they have glass windows not plastic.

Did you install the glass?

Just took a look at the Freeman website. Nice products.

Was there a part number?

No part number but when I bought them from Sam’s they said they had 4 left and I bought 2 so they should still have 2 left. I talked to Freeman to see if they had any trim rings for them but they did not. I guess they supply to the fishing fleets. Rusty the glass came installed in the port, it makes them pretty heavy but in my mind that is a good thing. John

I agree on the look and weight. My plan is to pop them out in spring and install safety glass. I have to keep up with you. LOL.
