I just found the answer in the model series II brochures they were manufactured from 85 to 87.

The cockpit version was a 63'

And the 18'2" 56 which is the precursor was manufactured from 1981-1984

I know Catalina has a limited of 60 feet on a mooring ball and I imagine a lot of other ports have the same restriction. At 63 you'd have to anchor for the week or week-end instead of mooring. Not a deal breaker but a major consideration.

I do not know where you heard that about Catalina, but we have many friends with boats over 60 feet that go there and get moorings even in the height of summer. John
