  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
40' DOUBLE CABIN-Series I (1986 - 1989)
Looking to replace our 40 double cabin counter stools as we are having the furniture recovered. It is a bit of a challenge as they are only 16" high. We are looking for something with a back. Have found a couple of adjustable bar stools that will go down to a minimum of 21". This might be OK but....Have also found a couple of barrel style lounge chairs that will go from 14 - 18" but might be too wide. Any suggestions? What have others done? Thank you for any replies.

Hi Bob,

don't you just love those parson stools?

I have considered some nice padded / wooden folding chairs for the breakfast bar on my 40 DC but haven't made a change yet. I did remove the barrel chair (through the side window) from my boat as I needed more floor room for the salon. We removed the foldout bed from original sofa (now storage) and when we have more than 4 people staying on-board overnight one can sleep on the sofa and another 1 or 2 people can sleep on mattress' on the salon floor.

Hello Mark!

Interesting that you removed the barrel chair through the side window. In removing all the furniture, I measured the side window and was smaller than the doorway. In removing the base of the chair and only in one direction, was able to remove the chair through the doorway.

All is being recovered in a grey tweed Sunbrella fabric along with the valances. My wife is making new curtains. They will be white with signal flags sewn into them. She had done the same on our trawler and looked fantastic. The two choices we have found so far is https://www.overstock.com/Home-Gard...ccid=7E5IUOM6IUJKBWKDQIODVFWS2M&searchidx=514 and https://www.overstock.com/Home-Gard...HBKRIKJW3E3FABWQ4&recalg=872,873,839&recidx=2. Would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob,

Those folding chairs look excellent. I will show the admiral and see what she thinks.

I am heading down to Fort Lauderdale in early February for 10 days (Men's fishing / golfing / tennis / trip) and I taking my 24 x 24 damaged props alone with me to be repaired at Frank and Jimmie's Prop shop. After my little accident last June I think I need to fix them so I have spares.

Cheers,

Mark
