Aft deck measurements; any difference between 40' and 42'?

Greetings Members!
My Bride and I have narrowed down our "Forever Boat" quest to a 40' DCMY or the 42' CPMY. Both have the single helm, 2 cabin/ 2 head layout we prefer. We lost out on a 1990 40' DCMY and while looking for another came across a 1994 42' CPMY which has the lower open cockpit area that I, the boat driver prefer. Our question is this; does anyone know if the aft area under the hardtop, below the helm is the same size on both models?
Any input is appreciated!

Thanks Freebird! My Bride was convinced it was shortened on the cockpit model. I now how the information to dispute that. Which I will use, wisely!
