  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
45' CONVERTIBLE-Series II (1984 - 1992)
I have no dog in this fight but these seems to be an excellent deal for someone in the MY Market. If motors are in good condition I don't see how you could lose on this one. Anyone know this boat or have any insight?

Nice. I'm not crazy about what looks like a lot of mirrors inside, but that's easy enough to redo. At my age I avoid mirrors. LOL

I bought my current boat from that guy 13 years ago. For a broker, he's a pretty straight shooter.

That boat looks like a much better value at 259 that Rho Boat at 350k.

That said, 70' is waaay too much boat for me.

Its never too big when you live aboard.

Wives have shoes and clothes to store. not to mention having room for guests.

Buy the smallest boat you can 'live with' not the biggest you can afford. When there is no more room, the shopping stops. :p

Some do. Others dont seem to notice. Filling up a 3k square foot house took mine 3 years. it seemed she figured anything that made it in the door had to stay. she had 17 bins ( large rubbermaid) of xmas decorations. 12 more for haloween.

I cant get rid of them even 5 years after leaving the house.

Anyone ever try to get a 1989 70 MY low enough to clear the bridge at Chicago. Take arch down, windshield frame, and compass? Think it would get under 19?

I thought the top of the Windshield was just under 19ft and the top of the arch was just over 21ft so I looked at the Hatteras Brochure on this site. There is just a standard Brochure for the 70MY so it doesn't show dimensions. That being said the there is a brochure on the 74 CPMY which is essentially the same boat with the mold stretched out. The height shows 18' 7" to the top of the Windshield and 21' 2" to the top of the Arch, with a 5'6" Draft. Hope that helps. I'd be pretty sure the current owner would know the height being where the boat is located. If it was on the ocean maybe not but people that run Lakes and Rivers pretty much know the exact height of certain parts of the boat.

Unless someone added a lot of stuff to the boat there should be no reason a 70 couldn't get under that bridge. I've taken a 74 through with a hydraulic arch and the bimini down just fine. If this is the Rob M I'm thinking it is, give me a call. Ray Bock

I believe this project was formerly called "Tenatious". Suggest you check out many of your membership's comments in the Sam's postings from 6/16/10 until early 2011 under "1989 Hatt 70' MY soon to be REPO". We looked at it soon out of REPO (National Liquidators) in 2011 on hard when it was listed before any significant work seemed to have commenced . The keel had 4 ft. crack and thick mirror in salon was cracked down its length. It has been listed for many years by Frank Gordon at about $319K. Seems like many needed fixes were made (make sure) before this listing with new broker came on market recently.

Correct. It is indeed that boat.

Rob, we were on that boat in June. Talked to the guy who personally delivered the boat. According to him he brought it up via the Illinois River, lowered the arch to clear the bridge. Hope that helps....
