Mystery Cable

We're replacing all of the control cables and I'm having trouble identifying the length of a couple of them. They are marked as follows:

032377 003 0264 TFX 21542

Google is not yielding any results......could these actually be originals??

Does anyone have a cross reference that goes back far enough to decode the numbers for length?

On another note, we're replacing everything with "red jacket" cables simply because I've had good luck with them over the years, and they're significantly less expensive than the latest "extreme" cables. That said, I needed a few 26' cables that weren't in stock in the red jacket, but were in stock in the Extremes, so I tried them rather than wait. They are VERY smooth, especially for such a long run. I'm not sure if they will last longer, but on long runs, I will probably start using them despite the cost.

Smooth as melted butter! NOW, I know why every captain who ever drove this boat always said, "Boy, those are really stiff!" They've been like this since I bought her 10 years ago. I knew they were stiff, but I never knew they were supposed to be THAT smooth. So, yeah...should have done this 10 years ago.

Let me finish the install and I'll give you the list. We changed a couple of runs to get cables out of the way, and once I'm done, I'll have a better idea of what I would have made a bit longer or a bit shorter.

As for source, I have the advantage of a daughter that works at West, so she got them for us. None of the info they have from Seastar/Teleflex was helpful in translating the numbers above either, which is why I'm guessing they are originals.

OK, we pulled a temporary through to hold the path and measured the mystery cable. It's 22 ft. long if anyone else needs the info down the road. Both lower helm throttles on our 58 use this cable.

It's not the length that makes them stiff it's the bends especially close to the control heads. I've replaced mine several times over the years. Hatteras ran them in the way. Look for a better and smoother flowing route

We do. Upper and lower port throttles run to the sync and then a 10 foot cable runs from the sync to the port engine governor.

Which is why I'm holding off on the final list.....we're re-routing a couple to increase the bend radius. Not my first rodeo either ;-)
