We finally have a dog.....

that understands boats. After a long series of "Landlubber" dogs, our latest rescue doggy seems like he must have been on a boat before. He grabs his life preserver and brings it to me when he wants to go for a ride. Here he is performing his 2 main onboard duties.... Chillin" and Guarding.

I know there was a thread somewhere back where we posted our pets, but darned if I could find it.

Congratulations Eric! But remember dogs are like potato chips. One is never enough. We take our 3 large dogs with us. All I can say is I am grateful for our Marquipt Sea Stairs.

Congratulations! Retrievers and Labradors make great boating dogs.
We lost our dog this year to old age, she was a very small poodle with a huge personality that grew up on our boats with my 2 sons. Never a holiday without her aboard.
Besides that, there is my best Mate, Jasper, who was hand reared by us and is now 11 years old:

Hehehe... He says Hello in MANY different tones. I kid you not:
He uses that one word in a way that you know what his mood is.

A good friend of mine got a Golden wanted a boat dog and the dog won't even walk through a puddle plus he can't walk up stairs so he stays home
He then got a rescue dog mixed mutt he trained her to jump off the platform and go swimming with all of us. That has its highs and lows nobody can go swimming without Honey!
